Summary
RAC and Club Hope share a Gresham location but serve different needs. This guide helps community partners understand each program’s services and connect people with the right support.
When someone needs support, figuring out where to go shouldn’t be another obstacle. Bridges to Change offers two programs at our East Multnomah County Gresham location: the Recovery Access Center (RAC) and Club Hope. They share a building and the same peer-led, harm-reduction approach but serve different needs.
If you want to know about resources related to housing, justice, job placement or another community-based service, this guide can help you understand what each program offers and which one may be the better fit for someone you’re supporting.
Recovery Access Center (RAC)
RAC is a 30-45-day temporary, all-gender housing program for people experiencing substance use disorders, mental health concerns and challenges maintaining stable housing.
During their stay, participants receive practical assistance alongside support from peers who understand that recovery does not look the same for everyone. The goal is to provide a temporary place to stay while helping each person work toward recovery, stability, and next steps.
RAC offers:

- Connections to treatment and recovery resources
- Group meetings

The main difference
RAC is a temporary housing program. Club Hope is a day-services program.
- If someone needs a temporary place to live while working toward recovery and housing stability, RAC may be the appropriate option.
- If someone needs basic services, peer support or help connecting with resources during the day, Club Hope may be the better place to start.
At Bridges to Change, peer mentors walk alongside participants rather than deciding what recovery should look like for them. We work to connect them with the support and resources that make sense for their individual needs.
